The all-day festival was part of the “New Start Economy” program launched by the Senate Department for Economic Affairs, Energy and Operations at the end of March 2022. The PEOPLE & CULTURE FESTIVAL offered companies as well as training and further education institutions a platform to present themselves and open job advertisements as well as current job profiles. Whether with graduates, career changers or young professionals – the 20 participating exhibitors were able to make direct contact with potential employees on site. In addition to a personal exchange at the exhibitor areas on the upper floor of the Colosseum Berlin cinema, various recruiting formats such as career pitching and talent matchmaking enabled personal job placement.
Around 1,300 participants attended the PEOPLE & CULTURE FESTIVAL. A total of 70 speakers and workshop leaders addressed current topics in the world of work, education and training, such as new work, leadership and corporate culture, diversity and inclusion, generation management and future job profiles and requirements. A total of more than 50 keynotes, panel talks and workshops were held throughout on Stage 1 and the partner stage hosted by Tech in the City e.V., as well as on two other stages. Jeannine Koch, Executive Chairwoman of medianet berlinbrandenburg e.V. and Michael Biel, State Secretary for Economy at the Senate Department for Economy, Energy and Enterprises, opened the PEOPLE & CULTURE FESTIVAL. The closing panel was moderated by Jeannine Koch as well as Olaf Kretschmar from the Berlin Music Commission. Speakers included Dr. Severin Fischer, head of the Berlin Senate Chancellery, Dr. Stefan Franzke from Berlin Partner for Business and Technology, co-founder and co-managing director of re:publica Andreas Gebhard and Pamela Schobeß, CEO of Club Gretchen and chairwoman of Clubcommission Berlin e.V.
Furthermore, exhibitors and partners presented training and support programs, such as Stackfuel and Digital Career Institute. We were able to attract renowned and excellent speakers for the event, including the Managing Director of Civey, Janina Mütze and Lunia Hara, Director Project Management of diconium.
Punctually at 11:11 a.m., the guests could enjoy fruit-filled carnival pancakes. As befits a proper “cinema visit”, there was also delicious salted caramel popcorn from the Berlin popcorn company Knalle. The festival day ended in a relaxed atmosphere with a Vermouth Happy Hour and various top-class live acts. Iris Deco, VØR, Spoke feat. Sorah and Jana Falcon played.
