Polish startup momentum is growing, trailing European powerhouses like Berlin, London, and Lisbon. It is yet to rank in the top 20 best start-up ecosystems in the world, according to the Compass Startup Ecosystem Ranking 2016 report, but based on its current trajectory, Warsaw is rapidly become Europe’s new growth engine.
Poland has a rising tally of digital success stories, a well-developed startup infrastructure, and the new Google Campus in Warsaw is set to provide a catalyst for innovation throughout the CEE. Poland has already produced a number of global tech startup successes, among them social learning network Brainly . The company reports more than 40 million unique users every month across more than 35 countries. Filmaster, acquired in 2016 by Samba TV for €1 million ($1.09 million), is another. Online healthcare appointment booking platform DocPlanner closed a $10 million Series B round, bringing total funding secured to $14 million. It is now operational in 25 markets in Europe, Africa, and Asia.
As part of the BerlinBalticNordic.net Programme, media.net invites companies from the capital region, and companies from the wider BerlinBalticNordic country partner network to join in a 48h innovation tour to Warsaw, 8-10 October 2017.
You will have the opportunity to look into the capital of Poland’s digital economy, a city which is rich in innovation and tech talent. We will meet the key Players in the Warsaw Ecosystem driving its growth and housing its talent including HubHUb, Startup Poland, Inovo VC Fund. The Programme will include company visits to local Startup Heroes, Networking lunche with representatives from the Warsaw investment community, a Meetup with Reaktor. We will take a tour of the Google campus and understand transformation approach to incubating and accelerating growth. We will visit Coders Lab, the largest Programming school in Poland.
