For 10 days, the festival will focus on stories from all parts of the world that vividly address and reflect on human action, the socio-political status quo and fundamental issues such as democracy, justice, freedom and environmental protection. Through discussions and Q&As with filmmakers, activists and experts, the festival creates a platform to gain new perspectives on our world.
HUMAN RIGHTS FILM FORUM
In 2020, the festival will be accompanied by a Human Rights Film Forum for the first time, with which we create an interdisciplinary platform for exchange, knowledge transfer and idea development. At the heart of the forum is a three-day Climate Story Lab, in which experts, activists and storytellers develop new strategies for communicating the climate crisis. Moreover, the forum is dedicated to the debate on resistance against populism and fake news (in times of Corona), deals with different approaches of storytelling on (conflict-based) sexualised and gender-based violence and offers space for a conference on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
