#UNIT is unique and entertaining conference/festival with inspiring talks, music, arts, encounters, performances, and installations. It is a lot of networking possibilities in a very laid-back atmosphere without suits and formalities. We will actively encourage you to meet others through our networking games and speed networking sessions.
#UNIT is the only place in Eurasia, where you can meet so many LGBTI+ geeks at once. #UNIT is all about intelligent, talented and creative people, devoted into tech, science, arts, and business. It is so fun that people do not want to leave the venue and stay longer for drinks, music and crazy party up until the dawn!
WHAT TO EXPECT?
- 1000+ diverse LGBTI tech talents, experts, innovators, scientists, designers, artists and businesses from around the world, who come to Berlin in order to share, inspire, empower and learn from each other, work together and create common projects
- 60+ passionate, mind-blowing speakers both high-profile and grass-root. We have speakers with diverse backgrounds from CEOs and world-famous scientists to independent DIY hackers. Explore tech, science and diversity with amazing speakers like:
- Prof. David K. Smith, the most visible LGBTI scientist and Youtube star with with over half a million views.
- Prof. Lynn Conway, pioneering electrical engineer and computer scientist, world-known for foundational contributions to computer architecture and transadvocacy. Her contribution was key for later development of mobile hardware.
- Jon “maddog” Hall, a key person in development of Linux systems, who was named “Tech Guru of 2012” by OUT magazine.

UNICORNS IN TECH
#UNIT 2017 is organised by UNICORNS IN TECH | The Global Tech Community for LGBTI and Straight Allies. Except for #UNIT the UNICORNS IN TECH team leads monthly Get-Togethers hosted by various companies, like Google, Microsoft, SoundCloud, SAP, Axel Springer, Zalando, Wooga, and others. The goal is to network and to learn about new tech developments and trends. UNICORNS IN TECH conducts also a number of other events that bring together diverse tech communities and make them more visible and empowered.
