BBN.net Investors’ Dinner@ SLUSH

From November 30^th to December 1^st the City of Helsinki is packed with excited, motivated people from all over the world, who can’t wait to enter the Slush venue, learn about new innovations and meet possible business partners. The organizers make sure that from the first moment you step foot into the City you are a part of Slush, feel welcomed and informed and can’t be anything but be amazed by the very special vibe and energy.

As an official side event of Slush, on November 30th the BBN.net Investors‘ Dinner took place for the second time in the wonderful restaurant Sipuli. 26 promising startups from the Berlin, Baltic and Nordic regions pitched their projects to 30 potential investors from all over Europe and the USA in an exclusive dinner setting. The Investors’ Dinner is hosted by BerlinBalticNordic.net in close colaboration with EIT Digital and supported by Borenius and Berlin Partner.

Andrea Peters, board chairwoman of the media:net berlinbrandenburg, Prof. Willem Jonker, CEO of EIT Digital and Samuli Simojoki, partner at Borenius, welcomed the participants from 10 different countries, such as Finland, Belgium, France, Estonia, USA, Latvia, Ukraine, Denmark and the region Berlin-Brandenburg (Germany).

So, how does the format work?

You need a nice restaurant, a 3 course menu and amazing guests who are looking for investments or want to invest in great ideas. On each table sit about 4 Vcs and 4 Startups. When the first course starts, each startup gets time to pitch their project and then the VCs get to ask their questions. For the 2^nd and the 3^rd course the startups each time switch to another table and meet new VCs.

The format makes sure that every participant gets as many chances to talk to the other guests as possible, so while enjoying a delicious menu in a relaxed atmosphere, one or another business contact has definitely been established and we are always happy to hear about the collaborations that were initiated at the dinner.

We had a fantastic time at Slush and can’t wait to be back with our Investors Dinner in November 2018.
