The International Co-Production Accelerator Program (ICAP) is a training and project incubator program for feature films, offered by the Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA). The CMPA first offered ICAP in 2021 to respond to the continuing need to facilitate international collaboration during the global pandemic. The initiative will return this year in a hybrid format, combining virtual instruction with in-person events at Berlinale/European Film Market in 2024.
The program will promote international cooperation between Canadian and German and other companies for the creation of feature films. The driving force of this initiative is to forge project partnerships and long-lasting business relationships between Canadian, German and other international production companies.
If you have a feature film in development and are looking for a Canadian co-production partner, this program might be for you!
The training and one-on-one consultation sessions will focus on:
- Global landscape for feature film financing internationally
- Overview of legal considerations for doing business internationally
- Distribution/marketing/festival strategies, structures and players
- One-on-one consultations with experts, providing targeted feedback on project content development and pitching, financing, and distribution
- One-on-one meetings between participating producers
We are accepting applications until October 31, 2023.
